Fire At Royal Academy Of Art

A huge blaze has badly damaged a Royal Academy of Arts building in central London. Eight fire crews were called when the fire broke out in the Burlington Gardens building, in Piccadilly.It was eventually brought under control by at least 60 firefighters. A Royal Academy spokesman said the three storey building, a "separate site" was currently empty. The RA spokesman said the fire alarm was triggered after the blaze broke out on the west corner of the roof. He said the cause and extent of the fire was yet to be determined. No art was damaged.
