Drunk Triggers Art Scare
A drunken reveller prompted a security scare at one of Scotland's top art galleries after he fell asleep in the toilets. Police were called to Glasgow's Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum after the man woke up in the small hours and triggered the system last weekend. But as they entered the art gallery all they found was a dazed party-goer trying to find his way out of the locked museum. The man had attended a charity fundraising party at the gallery, opened by the Queen just days earlier. The incident has raised doubts about the suitability of the art gallery for functions. It is understood the man had slept for three hours unnoticed by other guests or security staff. The man's wife reported him missing at 2am and a sweep of the building - which reopened in July following a £26 million refurbishment - was carried out; but no-one spotted him. It was only when he woke at 3am in the toilet, and triggered the alarm system, that he was found.
