Pencil Art Broken

A sculpture by a renowned artist which would cost £70,000 if it was commissioned today is lying in pieces at the back of a hotel - although bosses today promised it would be put back up. Renowned artist Peter Logan was commissioned to create a piece of art for the city in 1993 and the result was his kinetic sculpture, Blue Pencils, which is moved around by the wind. The art was installed in 1994, but with the hotel now under new ownership, the art - which the artist himself says would cost up to £70,000 if he was commissioned to create it today - is broken up and left outside.
