Rock Star's Blood Art
Pete Doherty's blood stained canvases could fetch up to £50,000 each when they go on sale at an exhibition in a Notting Hill gallery. The troubled musician's scrawls and squiggles in pencil, pen and his own narcotic-tainted blood will go on show tomorrow at London's Bankrobber Gallery. Among the 14 works are self portraits, a picture called Number 3 On The Twos, which depicts a prisoner in a cell, and even a crucifixion scene. Some of the paintings are said to be illustrations from his diary The Books Of Albion: The Collected Writings Of Peter Doherty which are being published this month. Doherty was arrested again last week on charges of drug possession and the Babyshambles singer's prolific drug taking has scared those close to him. Meanwhile his supermodel girlfriend, and perhaps fiancee, is reported to have said she wants a child with the poet, musician and artist. According to the Daily Express she was quoted as saying: "What counts is having a family and we need the bond of a child. We've got our music together and we're writing an album but a baby would be the clincher between Pete and me." (For full source and article click the Headline).
