$10m Art Charge To Company
Former Tyco International Ltd. Chief Executive L. Dennis Kozlowski purchased more than $10 million worth of paintings, including a Renoir and a Monet, and had the bills sent to his company, an art consultant testified. Christine Berry, a consultant who helped pick the paintings, told the jury at Kozlowski's fraud and larceny trial that Kozlowski and his wife acted as though the artwork, and the company-owned apartment the paintings were intended to decorate, were personal possessions. "Everything was referred to as "their' apartment," said Berry, a government witness.
