Top Belfast Art Show

For 35 years the Annual Summer Art Exhibition at Caldwell’s has been a major show in the Irish art calendar. The piece of the show is The Point-To-Point Fence - a large early Basil Blackshaw painting that sets in context the artist’s more recent Window Series. Shawcross shows recent works before his next solo in early 2007. Colin Davidson is a key gallery artist. Rumour has it that his next show in September is seriously exciting and will establish him as an artist of considerable stature in Ireland. Since joining the gallery, Jonny McEwen has been one of the top sellers with paintings going to Ireland, Britain, Europe and the USA. His new work builds on his earlier abstract landscapes adding new techniques, textures and colours to his already beautiful paintings. Recently his editioned prints brought a new dimension to his art and created works accessible to buyers new to collecting.
